The video is “Powering the Cell: Mitochondria,” released last month by Harvard University’s BioVisions.  The New York Times yesterday offered an article and news video featuring the achievements of animators in bringing to three-dimensional life the inner workings of living cells and molecules.  Our chromosomes live in our cells, but the DNA they hold is only part of the genetic story, and an even smaller fraction of the story of being human.  The study of genetics necessarily involves the exploration of the vast, bustling “cities” inside of our cells.  Below, BioVisions’ previous hit, “The Life of the Cell.”
